"Well, I don't see how I can forgive you," [[you|You]] say.  "You need to start taking responsibility for your actions.  I don't know if it's this crazy place that did this to you...."

[[She|Rosalind]] cuts you off, her chin quivering a bit.  "I wish I could blame it on that, Parker, but I can't.  It's all my fault and I'm desperately sorry.  I've made a mess of things."

You respond, "Well, you need to stop messing around with Mr. Anderson at least and stop acting like such a slut.  How can you expect me to respect you?"

She holds her head in her hands.  "Oh, Parker, you wouldn't have respected me before I started working in Rosestead either."  She sniffles and seems to come to a decision.

She looks up at you and says, "You deserve the truth, Parker.  You may think I started cheating on your father when I started working for Mr. Anderson, but nothing could be further from the truth.  It's when I started working for Mr. Anderson that I //stopped// cheating on your father.  It's when he found out about it that he had me start working here."

"But you said you were depressed and weren't interested in sex until you started working for Mr. Anderson!" you say.

"I said I wasn't interested in having sex with your father.  That was true.  Mr. Anderson ordered me to stop cheating and I did.  And everything got much better until your father passed on," she says.  "I'm sorry, Parker.  I'm so ashamed!  But it's not Rosestead that turned me into a slut.  I've always been a slut."  She starts crying again.  "I'm so sorry, Parker."

She sees the look on your face and says, "Oh no, don't think that!  I'm sure you're his.  I don't ever want you to doubt that!  I swear your father was the only man I was with when you were conceived."  You breathe a sigh of relief as she had guessed your thoughts perfectly.

"Well," you say.  "You still need to be more respectable."

"I'll try, Parker.  I'll do anything to make it up to you," she says.

"Well, all right," you say.  "I want to think about all this."

"I'm sorry again, Parker," she says and walks out the door, leaving you to your thoughts.<<set $rosalind.mend = true>>
