[[Emily]] seems to buy your excuse.  The two of you chat about school and other things.  She's her usual not very warm self and after about half an hour or so, she says, "Well, I have a lot of homework to do tonight and it will be time for dinner by the time I get home, so I should get going."  You don't really want her to meet the Andersons right now, so you decide not to invite her to eat at the house.

"Well, sorry you have to go so soon, but it was great of you to come all the way out here," you tell her.

"Sure, Parker," she says.  You escort her out to her car and she does give you a hug and a kiss goodbye.  You wave to her and return to your room.
